My Final Statement.

I signed up for photography because in eighth grade I started to realize how cool it was to be the person behind the camera. In this class, I learned about lots of things, including the mechanics of cameras, and how to take macro photos, which I had wanted to learn for a long time. I learned this semester that if I make time and work hard for something, I can achieve it. The biggest challenge I faced this semester was making time to go out and take photos, especially with the panorama planet project. If I had to go back and do a project over, I would redo the long exposure photos. I ended up doing the photos with a very low-quality long exposure app on my dad's iPad and doing the light drawing with a Bic lighter.

In my final project, the self-portraits, the imagery and symbolism I used included a guitar, skateboard, trees, a blank wall, and, in the photos where I was outside, I chose my clothes specifically.

For a future photography student, I would suggest strongly that you take the class seriously. Treat the assignments just like you would your math homework or an english essay. Make time for the photos, and do them well. As long as you work hard and do your best you can only feel good about it.
